WHAT THICKNESS WETSUIT DO I NEED?

The numbers (e.g. 5/4) represent the thickness of the wetsuit neoprene in millimetres. The thickness of this material varies, dependent upon the part of the body that’s being covered. This is why there are often different numbers in the description. The wetsuit neoprene is almost always thinner on the arms and legs, to ensure that the movement of the surfer’s limbs are not overly restricted while surfing.

The numbers will be separated with either a ‘/’ or a ‘0’, with each number corresponding to a different thickness. The larger number, usually the first number (the number on the left), gives the thickness of the torso. The second (and sometimes third) number gives the thickness of the neoprene on the limbs.

DO YOU HAVE SIZE GUIDES?

Fit is the difference. It’s the most important factor in choosing your wetsuit, gear, and accessories. If a fullsuit doesn’t fit correctly, then it won’t perform its most basic function of keeping you warm.

Look for your fullsuit to fit snugly, tight to your body without limiting your natural range of motion or comfort. Like a new pair of shoes, after being worn 3 to 5 times, your fullsuit should be stretched in all the right places and will be at its ideal fit.

Xcel’s size chart is for use as a general guide for stock size items only. If your measurements fall in between sizes, we suggest choosing the next largest size. Size availability varies per style.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY XCEL PRODUCT?

You can help maximise the natural product life of your wetsuit by:

 

  • Rinsing your product after each use with fresh water. Cool water (hot water reduces neoprene flexibility)
  • Hanging your product to dry inside-out on a plastic or wooden hanger in the shade.
  • Occasionally rinsing your product in a no-bleach, mild laundry detergent.
  • Avoiding heating or folding your product.
  • Wetsuits should never be ironed or put in a clothes washer or dryer.

If your order has not reached you within the estimated delivery period, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

*The carrier has experienced a delay in which case your tracking information should display any delays and a new delivery date.

*The delivery company has tried to deliver and has left you a calling card.

*Your parcel has been left with a neighbour.

*Your parcel has been left in a safe place.

*Delays due to local postal volumes or adverse weather conditions.

*Orders going outside of the the UK may encounter customs delays.

If none of these apply, please check with the carrier or your local sorting office as they might be able to locate your parcel and provide you with further information.

To return a product, there is no need to call or email us, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Include return note

Please attach a note with your name and billing address details or order number so that we can identify the return.

  1. Repackage your products

Please note that returned products must be unused and have all packaging and tags intact.

  1. Return via your preferred method

You can use any courier of your choice, however, we recommend using a tracked service. Take the parcel to your nearest store/post office and keep any receipts as they will contain your tracking number.

Returns are normally processed within 10 working days, once the returned products have been received into our warehouse.

Upon inspection of the returned product, Xcel Europe will issue a full refund less the original delivery charge. In the unlikely event that an item is returned to us in an unsuitable condition, Xcel Europe reserves the right not to refund the item and arrange to send the item back to you at your expense.

A refund confirmation email will be sent to you once your return has been processed.

WILL I BE CHARGED CUSTOMS AND IMPORT TAX?

Please be advised that for countries outside the UK, as well as the Canary Islands, there may be taxes, fees or other charges that you will be expected to pay. We recommend that you check with your local customs office before placing an order these charges vary from country to country. We do not have any control over these charges and do not hold current duty rates on file.

If these local import and customs charges are refused or not paid by you, then the item could be returned to Xcel Europe or destroyed. If your order is not returned to us in these circumstances, we may not be able to refund you for your order. We would not be able to refund any original postage costs paid and can only refund for the returned products minus any costs incurred in returning them to Xcel Europe.

WHAT ARE XCEL'S PRODUCT WARRANTIES? CAN I SEND MY PRODUCT TO BE REPAIRED?

At Xcel, we pride ourselves on the highest quality construction and fit. The following warranties apply per product category, under normal recreational use and proper care, on materials and workmanship from the original purchase date:

Wetsuits: 1 YEAR from original purchase date on all seams, 1 YEAR from original purchase date on neoprene.

UV, Accessories, Apparel: 3 MONTHS from original purchase date.

Xcel is the only party authorised to determine warranty eligibility. Submitting a warranty claim does not guarantee repair or replacement. Product sent to us for warranty will be evaluated for repair (or replacement) at Xcel’s sole discretion.

The following circumstances will not be covered under warranty:

Repairs, or alterations, to any area of the product done or attempted by anyone other than an authorised Xcel repair facility. Products classified as seconds, samples, or used. Damage from sunlight, chlorine, improper recreational use or care, or any damage beyond the product’s natural life expectancy. Warranty claim requests without valid proof of purchase. UV, Accessories, and/or Apparel products over 3 months from original purchase date.
